Format of Play:
18-Hole Stroke Play. In the event of a tie at the completion of play, the Championship will be decided by a sudden-death playoff which will begin immediately at the conclusion of regular play.

Eligibility:
The competition is open to male amateur golfers who reside in the nine county area and do not have playing privileges at any course (e.g.a golf facility outside of the WGA Area) from which the general public is excluded. A person who does not reside in the nine county area, and who is not a full-time student or employed in the nine county area, cannot join a club for the purpose of entering the WGA Public Links Championship. All entrants must have an individual up-to-date Handicap Index based on ratings for men not exceeding 12.5 under the USGA Handicap System. All players are subject to MGA Rules & Regulations.

Exceptions:
A public course player may hold incidental privileges at a course from which general public is excluded when such privileges are provided by: (1) an educational institution at which he is a student, or (2) a Federal armed service of which he is a member or retired member, or (3) an industry by which he is employed.
