Member Outings:

Member Outings allow SCGA members to participate in SCGA organized non-competitive golf outings. Member Outings focus on increasing the exposure of the SCGA to more golfers, who may not necessarily participate in SCGA Championship events. The SCGA would like Member Outings to be an opportunity for golfers of all skill ranges to enjoy a fun-filled day of golf with friends at an SCGA member golf course that they may not normally have the chance to play.

Events are open to all members (men and women) of all skill levels, who want to participate in no-pressure golf at a premier course. No Handicap Index required. Bring a group of friends or join us as a single and we’ll pair you with some future friends.

Please note that the each Member Outing will have a dress code in effect that all participants must adhere to. This may include the prohibition of cargo shorts, cargo pants and denim. The dress code will be emailed to each participant with the pairings.

These include, but are not limited to the following:

1) Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property

2) Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing

3) Offensive or unbecoming language

4) Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of SCGA staff, officials, volunteers, host club staff or other contestants

Built in 1988 in the ruggedly beautiful terrain of Rancho Santa Fe, one of San Diego’s most prestigious communities, The Farms Golf Club, a private, member-owned equity club, was created and built for golf enthusiasts…golfers serious in their commitment to the game and its historical traditions.

In 1999, when the members assumed ownership of the Pete, Perry, and Alice Dye golf course and the magnificent clubhouse designed by Robert Altevers in 1988, they made a commitment to maintain the course and clubhouse in pristine condition. One of the first initiatives was to improve the playability and quality of the golf course. In 2000, after conducting a nationwide search for an architect, The Farms golf course underwent major renovation under the guidance of architect John Fought and his associate, PGA tour professional Tom Lehman.

In addition to rebuilding a total of twenty-one greens, three of which are for practice, the club added a state-of-the-art irrigation system, created an outstanding practice facility and driving range, moved and rebuilt many tee boxes, added several water features, re-contoured a number of fairways and landscaped nearly thirty-five acres with beautiful plantings. The end result is a San Diego private golf course that remains challenging, but is fair to golfers of all abilities.
