The SCGA policy on non-member requests to participate in a Member Outings:
If SCGA Members would like to bring a non-SCGA Member, they will be permitted to do so only if there is room for the non-member after the entry closing date. If there is room in the event for the non-member they will be permitted to play at an additional $15 charge. If the site is at capacity, non-members will not be permitted.
Member Outings allow SCGA members to participate in SCGA organized non-competitive golf outings. Member Outings focus on increasing the exposure of the SCGA to more golfers, who may not necessarily participate in SCGA Championship events. The SCGA would like Member Outings to be an opportunity for golfers of all skill ranges to enjoy a fun-filled day of golf with friends at an SCGA member golf course that they may not normally have the chance to play.
Events are open to all members (men and women) of all skill levels, who want to participate in no-pressure golf at a premier course. No Handicap Index required. Bring a group of friends or join us as a single and we’ll pair you with some future friends.
Please note that the each Member Outing will have a dress code in effect that all participants must adhere to. This may include the prohibition of cargo shorts, cargo pants and denim. The dress code will be emailed to each participant with the pairings.

MESA VERDE COUNTRY CLUB:
GOLF COURSE ARCHITECT: William F. Bell
The Mesa Verde Country Club, located in Costa Mesa, Orange County, is recognized as one of the most prestigious private country clubs in the area. It is a member-owned golf and country club. The Club is situated on what was formerly farm land. It now features 135 acres of beautiful turf and trees and is home to an 18-hole championship golf course originally designed by course architect William F. Bell. The Club includes a tennis and pool complex, three dining rooms, banquet and conference rooms, fully amentized locker rooms, card room, golf shop, and a café located by the first tee. The Club was founded in 1959, and the Clubhouse was rebuilt in 2003.
The Mesa Verde Country Club proudly builds on a foundation of tradition and family to create a relaxed private club atmosphere for our members and their guests. We accomplish that by delivering the type of impeccable service, quality facilities and amenities, and member-focused programming that fosters a welcoming sense of family and community. The Mesa Verde Country Club serves as a venue to meet new people, entertain friends, and to provide quality family time. Personalized services at the Club provide a place where the bartender knows your drink of choice and where the wait staff knows your dining preferences.
Members and guests of the Mesa Verde Country Club enjoy a relaxing golf experience. Our members enjoy the true essence of the game: camaraderie and impeccable course conditions.
Golfers enjoy pristine greens and a large array of competitive and informal tournaments. Mesa Verde also has one of the largest Men's and Women’s golf groups for both the competitive and casual player. For the younger members of the family we offer golf and tennis clinics for beginners to advanced players.
With ten tennis courts – six of which are lighted, members and guests can enjoy an early morning, late afternoon, or evening game of tennis. Competitive league programs are available.
The Club offers an array of social activities that enables members to meet and make new friends. In addition to the well-attended holiday events, there are themed parties, weekly casual dinners, and more formal gourmet wine dinners. Not all activities revolve around food, although Club members rave about our chef's cuisine.
The course provides serious golfers a challenge and can be enjoyed by all. Optimal green-to-tee transitions and minimal steep grades make the course an enjoyable walk. At the end of a round, golfers are rewarded by the magnificent vista of the signature eighteenth hole.
Winners of the five PGA tour events staged here include Billy Casper and "Champagne" Tony Lema who had his first PGA Tour win at MVCC. Nancy Lopez won two of the six LPGA tournaments. The club also hosted the inaugural Toshiba Senior Classic and the USGA Girls' Junior Amateur Championship.
