2010 SCGA AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING

NOTE: PLEASE BRING THIS INFORMATION SHEET ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT.
GENERAL INFORMATION
1. REGISTRATION: There will be no formal registration at this event. All players mustcheck in with the golf shop upon arrival if they wish to rent a golf cart. All players should be at their assigned teetime at least five to seven minutes in advance of their starting time. The SCGAstarters will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in thegroup.
2. STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: Starting times and pairings willbe emailed to players and posted online at www.scga.orgone week in advance of the qualifier. Starting times will run from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. All playersshould be at their assigned tee time at least five to seven minutes in advanceof their starting time. The SCGA starters will have information to discuss anddistribute to each player in the group. Starters will not page players.
3. FORMAT: All playerswill participate in an 18-hole qualifying round. A total of 84 players will compete in the 111thSCGA Amateur Championship at La Cumbre Country Club, Friday - Sunday, July 9, -11, 2010. The final number of qualifyingspots will be available from the Committee on the day of play.
4. TEES AND YARDAGES: Play will be fromthe GOLD tee markers. The BLUE yardage will be used on Hole #1. CR: 72.0 / Slope: 133 / Approx. 6,583 yards.
5. PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds will be available on aspace available basis at the discretion of the club, Tuesday – Thursday, June 1- 3. Contact the Marbella Golf Shop at (949) 248-8590 to book a practice round.
Rate: $50.
Cart fee: $10 per person.
6. DRIVING RANGE: The driving range will be open at 6:30 a.m. on the morning of thequalifier. Range balls compliments of Marbella Country Club.
7. LOCKER ROOM: The locker room will be available at 6:30 a.m. Players MUST change shoes in the lockerroom. Lockers will not be available forstorage.

8. FOOD SERVICE: The snack bar will be available from 6:30 a.m. until the conclusion ofplay.
9. PURCHASES: Cash and reciprocalcharge will be accepted in the snack bar. Major credit cards or reciprocal charge will be accepted in the golfshop.

CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION
1. RULESOF PLAY:
*Play is governed by the USGA Rules ofGolf.
*Local Rules in effect will be found on theenclosed SCGA Rules Hard Card and the Local Rules Addendum distributed at thesite. Disregard all other club postedlocal rules including those on the back of the club scorecard.
*Footwear: Metal spikes are not permitted. Penaltyfor wearing metal spiked shoes is disqualification.
2. DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES AND CELL PHONES:
Distance Measuring Devices (without thecapability of measuring slope, wind, etc.) are permitted. Likewise, cellphones that calculate distance, but not slope or wind, may be used for thatpurpose only. Otherwise, cell phone use is not permitted during thestipulated round. This includes checking voicemail messages, e-mail ortext messages.
3. TIES: In the event of a tie for the last qualifyingplace or an alternate's position, there will be a hole-by-hole playoffimmediately following the conclusion of regular play.
4. AUTOMOTIVETRANSPORTATION: Cartsare optional at the players’ expense. Cart rental fee: $16 per player. Each player is entitled to one seat in acart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there isa vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or thecaddie must walk.

5. PULL CARTS: Pullor push carts are not permitted.
6. CADDIES: Playersmay provide their own caddie (See section 4 on Automotive Transportation). Caddiesmust adhere to the dress code listed in section 8 below.
7. PLAYERCODE OF CONDUCT:
By submitting anentry for any SCGA-administered competition, the contestant understands thathis/her participation is at the sole discretion of the SCGA. A contestant maybe removed from any competition at the discretion of the SCGA staff or Rules and Competitions Committee at any time beforeor during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed tobe detrimental to the image of the SCGA or the “Spirit of the Game” are groundsfor such removal and suspension from future SCGA-administered competitions.These include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Willful damageof the golf course or golf course property
2) Club throwingor unnecessary club tossing
3) Offensive orunbecoming language
4) Publiccriticism of golf course or verbal abuse of SCGA staff, officials, volunteers,host club staff or other contestants
5) Potentialendangerment of others
6) Conductdeemed unbecoming
8. DRESS CODE:
Players and Caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts,slacks, bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and "soft spike"shoes. Jeans (any color or any kind),denim, cut off shorts, sweatpants, T-shirts and tank tops will not bepermitted during any phase of the competition. Hats are to be worn forward at all times. Shirts must be tucked in.Under no circumstances will this attire prohibition be waived for players. ALLCLOTHING MUST BE IN GOOD REPAIR.
9. CANCELLATIONS:
To withdraw for any reason prior to thestart of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Rules andCompetitions Department at (818) 432-4169. Failure to notify the SCGA willsubject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions. Do not contactthe golf course. A player who only contacts the course and not the SCGA will besubject to suspension.
Requests for refunds prior to the entryclosing date will be honored less a $10 administrative fee. Requests received after the closing date and48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry. No refunds will be honored within 48 hoursprior to the event.
