GENERAL INFORMATION
1. REGISTRATION:
There will be no formal registration at this event. All players must check in with the golfshop upon arrival if they wish to rent a golf cart or hit range balls.
2. STARTINGTIMES AND PAIRINGS:
Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed toplayers and posted online at www.scga.orgone week in advance of the qualifier. Starting times will range from 7:30 a.m. toapproximately 10:00 a.m. All playersshould be at their assigned tee time at least five to seven minutes in advanceof their starting time. The SCGAstarters will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in thegroup. Starters will not page players.
3. FORMAT:
All players willparticipate in an 18-hole qualifying round. A total of 90 players will compete in the 35th SCGA SeniorAmateur Championship at Pauma Valley Country Club, Monday-Tuesday, July 2 – 3,2012. The final number of qualifyingspots will be available from the Committee on the day of play.
4. TEES:
Play from the Bluetee markers and yardages. Gold yardages will be use on Holes #7,9, 11, 12 & 17. Rating: 71.6 / Slope:132 / Approx. yardage: 6,535
5. PRACTICEROUNDS:
Players may make arrangements forpractice rounds at their own expense.

Green Fee:Regular rates apply.
Cart Fee: Included.
6. DRIVINGRANGE:
TheDriving Range will open by 6:30 a.m. on the day of the qualifier.
Rangeballs will be provided compliments of Empire Lakes and the SCGA.
7. LOCKERROOM:
There will be no locker roomavailable. Players are advised to arrivedressed and ready to play.
8. FOODSERVICE:
The restaurant will be open from 6:30a.m. until the conclusion of play.
9. PURCHASES:
Cash and major credit cards will beaccepted for all purchases.

CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION
1. RULESOF PLAY:
Play is governed by the USGA Rules ofGolf. Local Rules in effect will befound on the enclosed SCGA Local Rules Hard Card and the Notice to Players addendumdistributed at the site. Disregard allother club posted local rules including those on the back of the clubscorecard.
2. DISTANCEMEASURING DEVICES AND CELL PHONES
Distancemeasuring devices (without the capability of measuring slope, wind etc.) are permitted.
Playersshould be cautioned that most smart phones with a distance measuringapplication do not qualify for use due to otherapplications on the phone. For example, a cell phone may not be used as adistance measuring device if the phone also has other non-conforming featuresunder the Rules of Golf (such as a compass application on the phone). Themere presence of a non-conforming feature disqualifies the device even if these other features are not being used.Any questions about such devices should be resolved before the start of thestipulated round. Otherwise cell phone use is notpermitted during the stipulated round.
3. TIES:
In the event of a tie for the last qualifying place or an alternate'sposition, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following theconclusion of regular play.
4. AUTOMOTIVETRANSPORTATION:
Carts are optional at the player’sexpense. There will be a maximum of twocarts per group and two bags per cart. Driversmust be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates). Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie mayride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddiemust walk.
Cart rental fee: $10 per player.
5. PULLCARTS:
Pull or push carts are NOT allowed.
6. CADDIES:
Players may provide their own caddie (See section 4on Automotive Transportation). Caddies must adhere to the dress code listed insection 8 below.
7. SPECTATORS:
Spectators are permitted but are notallowed in carts. Spectators must adhereto all policies set forth by the club.
8. DRESSCODE:
Playersand caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, bermuda-lengthdress or golf shorts and "soft spike" shoes. Metal spikes are not permitted. The penalty for wearing metal spiked shoes isdisqualification. Jeans (any color orany kind), denim, cut off shorts, sweatpants, T-shirts and tank tops will notbe permitted during any phase of the competition. Hats are to be worn forward at alltimes. Shirts must be tucked in. Under no circumstances will this attire prohibitionbe waived for players. All clothing mustbe in good repair.
9. PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT:
By submitting an entry for any SCGA-administeredcompetition, the contestant understands that his/her participation is at thesole discretion of the SCGA. Acontestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the SCGAstaff or Rules and Competitions Committeeat any time before or during the competition. Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actionsdeemed to be detrimental to the image of the SCGA or the “Spirit of the Game”are grounds for such removal and suspension from future SCGA-administeredcompetitions. These include, but are notlimited to, the following:
ü Willful damage of the golf course or golf courseproperty
ü Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing
ü Offensive or unbecoming language
ü Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse ofSCGA staff, officials, volunteers, host club staff or other contestants
ü Potential endangerment of others
ü Conduct deemed unbecoming
10. CANCELLATIONS:
Towithdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a playermust notify the SCGA Rules and Competitions Department. During business hours (7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)you may call the Rules and Competitions Department at (818) 980-3630. To withdraw on a weekend, or during non-businesshours e-mail Matt Pawlak at mpawlak@scga.org. If a player needs to withdraw on the morningof the event, notify the SCGA staff person through the golf shop staff at thehost venue. Failure to notify the SCGAwill subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
Requests for refunds prior to theentry closing date will be honored less a $10 administrative fee. Requests received after the closing date and48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours ofthe event.
