ELIGIBILITY
This competition is a two-man team event. Each player must have an active USGA Handicap Index between 5.0 and 24.0 at the time the team attempts to qualify at the club level. The combined Handicap Index of the team may not exceed 40.0. Team members must belong to the same club.

Note: Teams that qualify for sectional or championship rounds will compete using the current Handicap Indexes throughout the remainder of the competition.

The format of play at the club qualifying, sectional qualifying, and championship levels shall be 18 holes of stroke play on a net better-ball basis. Each player (on a team of two) will compete at 90% of their Course Handicap.

Thursday, June 7, Brynwood Golf & Country Club, Armonk, NY

REGISTRATION

GOLF COURSE AND QUALIFYING COMPETITION
A club should attempt to prepare its golf course so as to allow teams to compete on as equal a competitive basis as possible. Good tee management can maintain a constant course length over consecutive days. Competing teams should play from the regular men's tee area. If qualifying play will take place over more than one day, a club might consider having competing teams play a set of permanent markers on each tee, or from some other easily identifiable starting point, rather than from a set of men's tees that would have to be moved every day.

USGA (Summer) Rules should govern play. The use of winter rules should be avoided whenever possible. However, the same rules should govern play throughout the qualifying period.

A player may enter a club's qualifier only ONCE, and NOT multiple times with different partners.

A team should not be allowed to qualify when playing alone. competing team should play in groups of three or four when attempting to qualify. Ideally, two teams attempting to qualify should play together.

Before starting play, teams should be reminded that they must hole-out on each hole.

After completing play, a team should be required to turn in a score card signed by one team member and a marker, who should not be a caddie.

Golf carts may be used in competition.

In case two or more teams tie for the medalist position, the MGA recommends that the following tie-breaker formats be considered in this priority: an 18-hole playoff; a three-hole net total-stroke playoff, followed by hole-by-hole sudden death if necessary; a pure hole-by-hole sudden death; match of cards.

RESULTS
Once the club qualifying competition is complete, the club should advise the MGA of its medalist team. Clubs should mail or fax this entry form to the MGA office no later than FRIDAY, MAY 30th by 5:00 p.m.
