FOOTWEAR: The KGA and its Championship Contestants will comply with the golf spike policy in effect at the host club at the time of the event. Emporia Municipal Golf Course is a “spikeless” facility. Shoes with traditionally designed spikes, regardless of composition (i.e. ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal when such metal comes in contact with the surface of the putting green, are prohibited. Call the KGA is you have a question about a particular brand or style. Penalty for breach: DISQUALIFICATION (Rule 33-7).

CONDUCT & ATTIRE: Proper golf attire is required. Blue jeans, designer jeans, tee shirts, tank tops and “cargo-style” pants and shorts are prohibited. Shorts must be mid-thigh. Golf shirt must have a collar and the tail must be tucked in. If a hat is worn, the bill must be worn forward. This dress code will be used in conjunction with any additional dress code used by the host club. A player who fails to notify the KGA of his withdrawal or who fails to notify the Committee of his withdrawal during the event is subject to a one-year suspension from KGA events.

PACE OF PLAY: It is important that all players cooperate with the committee by playing efficiently and without delay. Slow play is discourteous to your fellow competitors, and may create a penalty situation for all players involved in the group in question.

This condition also applies to caddies. Exceptions: to seek medical aid, to summon a rules official, or to report a problem with a golf cart.
