SCGA Rules of Golf Seminars

 

The SCGA Rules and Competitions staff is your resource to all questions related to The Rules of Golf, tournament administration, tournament formats, course markings, Local Rules to adopt at your club and more.  We are excited to offer seminars on The Rules of Golf open to any golfer who is passionate about golf and interested in the Rules.  Knowing the rules can help save you strokes!

 

Format:

Each seminar will review the 2012-13 Rules of Golf, specifically focusing on recent changes to the Rules of Golf, bunkers, water hazards, the teeing ground, ball lost or out of bounds, provisional ball, ball unplayable, loose impediments and relief from abnormal ground conditions and obstructions.  Each attendee will receive a Rules of Golf book at the seminar.  Decisions on the Rules of Golf books will be available for purchase for $20.00.  

 

Agenda:

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.  Coffee and tea will be served but breakfast will not be available.

The Rules of Golf Seminar will begin at 8:00 a.m. 

 

The seminar will feature a PowerPoint presentation that will review the most common rulings we encounter on the golf course as well as numerous other frequently asked Rules questions.  We will then spend approximately three hours on the golf course covering many different situations, rotating between different stations.  Feel free to bring a tripod seat or shooting stick to sit on for the outdoor stations.  In the event of inclement weather, the seminar will be conducted indoors.

 

Lunch will be served at approximately noon and we anticipate wrapping up each workshop no later than 2 p.m. 

 

Fee:

$45 (includes the seminar and lunch).

Dress Code:

Please wear appropriate golf attire, including collared shirts for men.  You may wear tennis shoes or sneakers.  Flip flops, jeans or denim are not permitted.

 

Continuing Education: 

PGA Members receive amaximum of 4 MSR hours for attending an entire program. GCSAA members receive .55 GCSAA education points for attending an entire program.
